What Shows Brockwell’s Watching – August

Here’s another edition of the shows I’m interested in and what you should give a try as well this month! First off, I just gotta say… I am loving how these streamers and networks are going back to old school TV distribution of only releasing one episode at a time, week by week. Fuck binging. This is the way to do it.

Ted Lasso – Season 2 (Apple TV+)

Everyone’s favorite feel good comedy is back for a second season and let me just say… it is soooooo much better than the first. I was on the fence about the first season but I am so in on the second one. End of episode two has a twist I would’ve NEVER seen coming.

The White Lotus (HBO)

I didn’t think I would be interested in this (and honestly hadn’t even heard of it until my roommates randomly threw on the pilot one night), but let me just say…. It’s fantastic. A great show about three very different families all on vacation at the same Hawaiian resort. Hard to imagine this level of writing and marriage of drama and dark comedy can come from the same guy who did Nacho Libre but hey, it does and it’s beast. Give it a watch if you’re looking for a new Sunday night pleasure.

DAVE – Season 2 (Hulu/FX)

When season one came out, I was a bit taken aback at how DEEP a comedy about a guy who makes dick raps could be and Season 2 has definitely surpassed that. With one episode left in the season (and seriously, every episode is better than the last), do yourself a favor and check it out.
