World of Cream Filled Desserts

It’s September 14th, and in honor of National Cream Filled Donut Day, while we all can’t go without our Boston and Bavarian Kream donuts, let’s take a look into the world of cream filled delicacies.

The French Canadians do it right with the classic Maple Eclair. TBH, Randy’s Donuts here in LA does a fantastic Maple bar, gotta give em a try.

The Italians have it on lock when it comes to cream filled desserts. Go to Italy and you’ll find Sfogliatelle, a light, flaky, shell-shaped, cream filled pastry.

As well as everybody’s favorite ricotta cream stuffed dessert, cannoli.

Italy is also home to the origin of the cream-filled donut, the Bomboloni.

Our French friends gave us Profiteroles, otherwise known as little delectable cream puffs of deliciousness.

Head on over to Turkey for some Torpil. Torpil are torpedo shaped, flaky puff pastries fulled with sweeeeet cream.

Har-dee-har-har! Gotta get over to Sweden for some Semlor, these little cream filled hamburger-like donuts. Seriously looks so amazing, and usually a traditional Fat Tuesday treat. How fitting.
