Alright boys, tonight’s our last chance to make some picks before the all star break completely throws off money line odds for the next couple of weeks. We had a rough go of it last week but we’re back to climb the ladder into green figures once again. With that said, here are the Tap’s NHL picks for February 2nd:
Washington Capitals ML (-115) – Coming off an overtime win over the Penguins, the Caps are looking to make it two in a row for this back to back stretch. Meanwhile Edmonton continues to struggle with an OT loss to the absolutely trash Senators on Monday night. Caps have lower odds with the back to back and Ovi struggling as of recent but I see the Oilers losing to a decent team in Washington.
Tom Wilson Points Under 0.5 (+108) – Wilson has been showing up the past couple of games, scoring a goal and assist to compensate for a struggling powerplay. That being said Wilson’s not one for the point streaks. I’m betting he’ll be too busy throwing hits tonight to score.
Calgary Flames ML (-275) – Not much money to be won here without taking the risk, but both the Flames and Coyotes are on the second leg of back to backs tonight. With Arizona’s win stretching deep into a shootout I see Calgary having fresher legs. Combined with a goaltending depth advantage Calgary should walk away with the W tonight. I’d be careful with the puck line at (-1 1/2) considering both had one goal wins last night.
