The Tokyo 2020 Olympics get started with soccer starting on July 17, followed by the Opening Ceremony on July 21. Basketball will now have 2 different disciplines this year for the first time. You will have the traditional 5 on 5 basketball we see with the NBA, but we will also have 3 on 3 basketball in the Olympics. I thought the 3 on 3 basketball was a complete joke until I did all the research for it. This is going to be an awesome tournament to watch. Be careful though with thinking some of the countries don’t have good teams for 3 on 3 basketball. For example, the France women’s team has 3 of the top 4 women’s players in the world.
Let’s get to some of my favorite bets as we are just over a week out from the Olympics:
- Australia to win Men’s Basketball Gold (+2000) USA at -1000 has zero value in betting. The Australian roster has some very talented and veteran players on it like Joe Ingles, Patty Mills, Aron Baynes and Matthew Delledova. They’ve also drawn an easy group with Group B having Germany, Italy and Nigeria. This is a group that could make a run being on the opposite side of USA in the knockout stage.
- Argentina to win Men’s Basketball Gold (+2300) At the 2019 FIBA World Cup Argentina finished in second place, losing the championship game to Spain. This is another team with a lot of veteran players ready to put it all out their for what could possibly be their final Olympics appearance. Throwing $10-50 on Argentina is going to make you enjoy watching this fun team throughout the Olympics.
Always find value when you make bets and don’t always take the easy bet. Stay tuned for more Locksmith daily picks during the Olympics as the man that can only pick locks will be one of the few members allowed in Tokyo for the games.
