Alllllright, let me set the scene for you- so Saturday night, we might’ve gone out for a little fun on the town with the boys. You know, a little of this, a little of that, some how do ya do? Anyway, like the smart men we are, after getting home at 3am, we decide to get us some Carl’s Jr. in our bodies to tame the midnight fuel and set us up for an absolutely stellar and hangover free Sunday. I opted for the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo, which, after looking back, I realized the burger alone has literally 1,000 calories… (It was my first time eating Carl’s Jr., and even in a black-out drunk state, I don’t think I can ever confidently eat it again).
However, like the even more brilliant person I am, I decided to get a HOT COFFEE as the included drink in my combo, with the idea that I would just throw it in the fridge. So, come morning… I’d have a little iced coffee already made for me. Brilliant- two birds with one stone brain – I’m a certified genius.
Well, lo and behold, Sunday morning my other roommates already made a fresh pot of hot coffee, so naturally, that’s where I drank from. And then they did the same Monday, for the work week… and then Tuesday, and Wednesday and now I’ve gone four days with this cup of Carl’s Jr. refrigerated coffee in the fridge that I’ve just been waiting for the right coffee-less morning to drink, but haven’t gotten around to yet.

So now I ask… how long can this coffee stay in the fridge before I have to inevitably toss it? I hate throwing out food that’s perfectly good to eat. Think it can make it till Friday? I mean that’s almost a week! Does cheap fast food coffee go bad? Sure it can taste bad, will it make me sick? As long as it doesn’t make me sick, I think I can still throw some cubes in there and let it rip, right? Even if it does taste a little off, I can always mix it with some whiskey or brandy and use it as a Friday night pregame bevvy.
According to “aboveaveragecoffee.com”, Black coffee can last in the fridge for 1-2 weeks and still be completely safe to drink if it’s stored in an airtight container. 2-3 days is optimal for the best taste but it will stay safe longer than that. Coffee with milk or creamer will last 2 days in the fridge.
Well, great thing I don’t use milk or creamer. Plus, a paper cup with a plastic lid counts as airtight, right? I think we’re safe here. The Carl’s Jr. caffeine concoction lives on!
