Happy National Tequila Day

It’s obvious that tequila fosters a love-hate relationship with almost everyone.  You either love the stuff or you can’t even stand to look at it.  I personally love tequila and feel that it’s perfect for a summer day or a kick off to a great high energy night. In honor of national tequila day today, here are my top 3 must have tequilas for this summer.

Milagro is a solid choice for anyone as you get a lot of bang for your buck.  Milagro master distiller Pedro Juarez uses 100 percent blue agave harvested in the Jalisco Highlands to make Milagro, and then slow-roasts the piñas in brick ovens for 36 hours to extract flavor. At only $27, the quality is much higher than the price tag and it is very affordable for being the top shelf tequila option at many bars.

1800 Tequila is a classy bottle that has an awesome presentation.  Also, 1800 is a Mexican brand of tequila owned by the Beckmann Family, who also own the Cuervo tequila brand. The 100% blue agave tequila is bottled in Jalisco, Mexico. 1800 is named after the year tequila was first aged in oak casks, and is sold throughout the world. This is a top option for any gift or event you need to attend as it is a very well known brand that is reasonably priced.

Tres Agaves is a quality brand that is perfect for margaritas.  The Tres Agaves Tequila together with their Margarita Mix is my favorite combination I have tried.  They bottle the tequila immediately after they finish the distillation process when typically blanco tequilas are aged for up to 60 days in order for the agave flavors to mutate over.  This is an organic tequila that is fresh and crisp.  Priced at only $30, this is a steal in my opinion.
