The Tap Daily

The Tap Daily is a West Coast based pop culture and entertainment website that features humorous and quick reading articles to keep you up to speed on daily news.

As as lifelong Rangers fan, Henrik Lundqvist was the goalie of my youth, the backbone player of my generation. He was the franchise face of the Rangers during my childhood and early adolescence. Not many fans get to have such a relationship with a player over the course of so many years. We were lucky, New York.

In addition to being an international sex icon,

The sexiest man in hockey, Henrik Lundqvist : r/LadyBoners

and insane guitar player,

Henrik Lundqvist was the epitome of what it meant to show up day in and day out, and always be that dependable person you could rely on to get the job done. There is nobody else I would’ve rather had in net for the Rangers all these years.

Although he never won a Stanley Cup (I still think claim if Rick Nash never hit that post in OT of Game 5 the Rangers would’ve won that series and be Stanley Cup Champions right now, but I digress) Henrik Lundqvist did more for New York Rangers hockey than any ranger in the last thirty years. And tonight is the night where they retire his number, for good. He gets the respect he is finally owed as his number 30 is raised to the rafters alongside greats like Rod Gilbert, Mark Messier, Adam Graves and other Rangers legends.

In honor of Henrik Lundqvist, let’s take a look back at his top 10 saves as a New York Ranger.

It’s been quite a ride, and while there’s been ups and certainly downs, I’ve loved every second of it. Thank you for everything, Hank. You taught me and millions of other New Yorkers what it meant to “Be A Ranger” Gonna miss you buddy.

One more time from the blue seats,

HEN-RIK
