With the second weekend of Coachella coming to a close, its safe to say that I think its greatly overrated. It used to be a festival to remember, and it still always has a phenomenal lineup, but is the weekend itself overrated?
The Positives to the weekend are these. First, the lineup always rules and you get to see a lot of the top performers and bands in the entire world. With that said, it should be a no-brainer to go, right? I always prefer an outdoor festival because there is space to dance and you don’t worry about Chad from Sigma Chi elbowing you in the face while he’s rolling at a fucking Billie Eilish show. Overall, the venue is okay and gives the fans the space they need to enjoy their time and not get other peoples sweat all over them.

While an outdoor show is nice, the heat of the summer is too much for many to handle. Since its outside, a mask is needed so you don’t breathe in a ton of dust and other shit into your lungs. For me, I always get a sore throat after an outdoor show like that. This is because off all the dust and people so close to you. Also, you need to camp outside with your friends and use the public showers which is never a good time and always means a ton of germs are around. Coachella is also way to expensive for my liking. I think overall its $2,000 to have tickets, drinks and food amongst other festival needs so its just not worth the hype.
