Ever since Game of Thrones came to an end, fans of the George R.R. Martin-inspired universe have been patiently awaiting details on the upcoming prequel series, House of the Dragon. Well as of yesterday, HBO has released a first look in the form of a teaser trailer. While the footage doesn’t give away too much in terms of plot or action scenes, the moody ambiance and fantasy setting bring back nostalgic memories of Game of Thrones in its heyday.
House of the Dragon will be set centuries before the events of GOT and is supposed to feature a world that is far more magical than its predecessor – as if dragons and ice zombies weren’t fancy enough. I think the biggest concerns regarding this new series have to be whether or not it can deliver an intriguing story while making up for Game of Thrones‘ lackluster finale. House of the Dragon is set to premiere sometime in 2022. Until then, there’s a whole series of books to prep you on how this show might go down. Then again, you could be lazy like me and just rewatch Game of Thrones for the tenth time.
